The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office provides the following advice:

  • Take out appropriate travel insurance before travelling and make sure it covers you for all the activities you want to do.

  • If you are travelling within Europe, ensure you have a UK Global European Health Insurance Card (GHIC) that hasn’t expired and understand what it covers – you still need full travel insurance though! GHIC cards are free.

  • Check foreign travel advice and learn about the laws, customs and entry requirements of the country you’re visiting and understand how they differ from home.

  • Check your passport is valid, fill out the emergency details, look after it while travelling and keep it in a safe place. Make sure you have all the necessary visas.

  • Make copies or take a picture of important travel documents and store them securely using a secure data storage site.

  • Research vaccinations or any other medical requirements for your destination, and if necessary visit a travel health clinic before you travel. For medical advice, visit the Travel Health Pro website.

  • Tell your friends or family about your travel plans and where you’re going, and leave emergency contact details.

  • Take enough money with you and have access to emergency funds.

  • Ensure you take the contact details of the local British Consulate in case of emergencies.

  • Understand what consular staff can and can’t do to help British nationals travelling overseas. Act responsibly and be responsible for yourself when abroad.

  • If you are from a different country, please check the latest travel advice from your country’s Foreign Office or contact them directly to find out more.

Health & Safety

Safety First

Safety is the utmost priority for all of our adventures. We have an extensive safety management system with 24 hour support. Advice is provided before the trips and full safety briefings take place along the way.

You must have travel insurance and you do need to take responsibility for your own behaviour in group travel situations. The operators' approach to health and safety is one of the biggest advantages to booking on a tour rather than travelling independently.

We always advise you to check out the current advice from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) before any travel.

"At Red Kite Adventures, your payment security is our top priority. We use the Felloh Payments' secure 'pay by link' system, ensuring that all transactions are processed safely and efficiently. This safeguards your personal and financial information. Enjoy peace of mind while booking your adventure with us!"

Please see our booking conditions for further information or for more information about financial protection and the ATOL Certificate go to: www.caa.co.uk

Passports & Visas

All travellers need to have a valid passport and any relevant visas. It is the individual traveller who is responsible for having the necessary documentation. We are not able to offer any passport or visa services.

It is essential to check the requirements with plenty of notice. Visa requirements will depend on the destination and the nationality of the traveller. Whilst we cannot provide services in this area, if you have any questions we can point you in the right direction.
